outsourcethinking is a place for me to synthesize the ideas I stumble across. Many are simple links to items of interest, with little commentary of my own. Others serve as a repository for ideas that are too important to file away as a bookmark, yet not significant enough to write about at length in a paper or journal format. The draft queue is full of half-baked articles and ideas that I have yet to take a definitive stance on.

A second motivation for the site is to combat what I feel is an encroaching case of Oblomovitis. Not in the sense that I am lounging about all day, but rather that as I get drawn into the daily grind of work, going out with friends, etc. far away from academia, I find my mind not as engaging with topics as it once was. outsourcethinking is part of the effort to keep myself sorting, assessing, and commenting on new and old ideas and how they fit into learning, leadership and organizations in general.
